#23 FREELENS Award
Slowly, I am recovering from the weekends shock-induced paralysis: I am still overwhelmed that I was chosen to be the recipient of this year’s Freelens Award with my ongoing project “Hashtags Unplugged” that had its public premiere on the 6th LUMIX Festival for Young Photojournalism!
It’s both, moving and encouraging for me that this body of work gained this enormous recognition and appreciation. Since I was temporarily more involved in other social lives than my own – both, online and offline – this project was the reason for quite a number of forgotten birthdays, left out drinks and missed parties within the last two years! I want to take the chance to thank the judges of the Festival Ruth Eichhorn, Barbara Stauss, Søren Pagter, Bertram Solcher, Christian Pohlert, Peter Bitzer, Lois Lammerhuber and Andreas Trampe, as well as FREELENS that endows this award. Further, I need to thank Rolf Nobel, Isabel Winarsch and the LUMIX Festival team once again, you’ve again done an amazing job! Thank you for your helping hands, five intense and inspiring days and bringing all of us together!

Thank all of you for your kind words, appreciation and critique of the work that I received from all corners of the planet since saturday. If it didn’t happen yet, I’ll get back to all of you in the next days! The award and your feedback is motivating to elaborate this project! So stay tuned!
In case you missed the festival, please take a look at all awarded works here – it’s worth it!
